Obiter FC 1982 |
Obiter FC was started in 1982 by a group of Solicitors who chose the name Obiter from the passing court phrase ’Obiter Dictum’. For years we languished in the old 5th Division of the Business Houses League until the end of the 90’s when some of the players younger brothers signed on and helped transform the team from a regular bottom of the table team into a much better team, challenging for promotion. The signings had an immediate impact and from the 1998-99 season, we were promoted successively finishing 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd until we won the Business Houses 1st Division in the 2002-03 season to gain promotion to the Premier Division, where we currently play. During the run that took us to the top Division, we finished runners-up in the League cup in 2001-02, losing to a local team bankrolled by a local radio [resenter.
